Santa Hat Free Pattern

Abbreviations:

MR – magic ring 

R – row 

sc – single crochet 

inc – increase 

dec – decrease 

fo – finish off 

slst – slip stitch

hdc – half double crochet

hdcinc – two half double crochet in one stith

Materials:

• Chenille yarn like himalaya dolphin baby (or substitute) color RED
• a few meters of white fur yarn for final steps and pompon
• 6 mm hook !
• stitch marker 
• sewing needle  
• scissors 

Santa Hat:

We start with pompon with WHITE fur yarn. Work with 6mm hook!

1. 6sc in MR

2. inc x6 (12)

3. sc around (12)

4. dec x6 (6)

Change to RED chenille yarn, cut fur yarn.

5. hdc around (6)

6. hdcinc x6 (12)

7-8. hdc around (12) (2 rows)

9. (hdc, hdcinc) x6 (18)

10-11. hdc around (18)

12. (2hdc, hdcinc) x6 (24)

13-14. hdc around (24)

15. (3hdc, hdcinc) x6 (30)

16-17. hdc around (30)

...

Repeat „inc rows“ and two „hdc around rows“ until the hat fits your head then make extra two/three „hdc around“ rows, change to WHITE fur yarn and sc around. F.o. and wave the ends.
