Materials:
- yarn of your choice in two colors, I use luna art baby fox color ORANGE and BROWN
- 4,5 mm hook (or fitted to your yarn)
- stitch marker
- sewing needle
- stuffing
- safety eyes (I use 8mm)
- scissors
Abbreviations:
- MR – magic ring
- R – row
- ch - chain
- sc – single crochet
- inc – increase
- dec – decrease
- fo – finish off
- slst – slip stitch
- bb – bobble stitch*
*Bobble stitch: 1. Yarn over, insert hook into stitch and pull up a loop. Yarn over, pull through two. Repeat number one in the same stitch/space until you have a total of 6 loops on your hook. Yarn over, pull through all 6 loops at once.
Didi pattern:
Didi is low-sew pattern, only ears are sewn on! In pattern I will show how to crochet a two color dachshund, if you want a dog in one color just skip the color changes :)
We start with ORANGE
1. 8sc in MR
2-4. sc around (8) (3 rounds)
In the next round we will start changing color to BROWN!
5. 2sc, inc, inc x2, inc, 2sc (12)
6. 2sc, (sc, inc)x4, 2sc (16)
7. 2sc, 12sc, 2sc (16)
8. 3sc, 12sc, sc (16)
9. 3sc, 13sc (16) (cut a ORANGE yarn for awhile)
Add safety eyes (8mm) between R6 and R7, between the increases on both sides of the head. Add safety nose on R1 (optional).
10-11. inc x3, 2sc, dec x4, 2sc, inc (16) (2 rounds)
In the next round we will make the legs (bb) in ORANGE remember to change the color a stitch before bb.
Stuff the head.
12. 2sc, bb, 2sc, bb, 10sc (16)
13. 4sc, inc, 11sc (17)
14-16. sc around (17) (3 rounds)
17. 5sc, dec, 10sc (16)
18-20. sc around (16)
In the next round we will make the legs (bb) in ORANGE remember to change the color a stitch before bb. If needed move sc some stitches to the left or right.
21. 4sc, bb, 2sc, bb, 8sc (16) (cut ORANGE yarn)
In the next round we will make the tail, if needed move a tail some stitches to the left or right. Stuff the body.
22. 14sc, and for tail make 8ch, turn and starting from 2nd ch from the hook 7slst, 2sc (16)
23. dec x8 (8)
F.o. and close
Ears (make 2):
Leave a long yarn tail when making your slip knot for chain. You will be using this tail for sewing the ear to the head! Use BROWN yarn.
1. Make 4ch, turn
2. 3sc, 1ch, turn
3. 3sc, turn
4. 2sc, 1ch, turn
5. 2sc, turn
6. 1sc
F.o, hide the yarn end into ear
Final steps:
- Sew ears to the head on R8-R10 about 4sts apart (photo below)
