Papa Smurf crochet pattern by @wyplatane_po_godzinach

- In the pattern are some color changes, so pay attention to the color written before rounds.
- Plushie made with this pattern will be ~30cm long (with chenille yarn and 4.5mm hook).
- DIFFICULTY LEVEL: advanced beginner/intermediate.
Materials:
- yarn of your choice in three colors, I use luna art baby fox color RED, BLUE and WHITE
- fur yarn in WHITE color (optional)
- 4.5 mm hook (or fitted to your yarn)
- stitch marker
- sewing needle
- stuffing
- safety eyes (I use 10mm)
- scissors
Abbreviations:
- MR – magic ring
- R – round
- ch - chain
- sc – single crochet
- inc – increase
- dec – decrease
- f.o. – finish off
- slst – slip stitch
- bb – bobble stitch*
- in BLO – in back loops only
- in FLO – in front loops only
*Bobble stitch: 1. Yarn over, insert hook into stitch and pull up a loop. Yarn over, pull through two. Repeat number one in the same stitch/space until you have a total of 6 loops on your hook. Yarn over, pull through all 6 loops at once.
Papa Smurf pattern:
We will start with the arms because these part will be worked together with the body, not sewn on.
Arms (make 2):
Stuff only the lower part of the arms (to R8).
In BLUE
1. 6 sc in MR (6)

If needed add a few sc until you reach the line with the thumb, fold top of arm flat and 4sc through both sides across. F.o. No need to leave yarn tail, leave only a few centimeters.
Legs, body and head:
In RED make 2 legs
1. 9ch, turn and starting from 2nd ch from the hook – 7sc, 3sc in last, 6sc, inc (18)

F.o, first leg. In second leg make addictional 4-5sc, then 3ch and connect legs together with sc. Make sure you have both feet pointing in the same direction! Stuff the legs.

Change color to BLUE

Start stuffing the body.

In the next round we will add arms to the body. If needed move the arms some sc to the left or the right, they should be evenly on both sides of the body. The thumbs should be pointing forward and remember the stith maker is on the back.

Finish stuffing the body.

Start stuffing the head.

Finish stuffing the head. F.o, close and weave in the yarn ends.
Eyes:
5ch, turn and starting from 2nd loop from the hook: sc, hdc x2, 3sc in last loop, hdc x2, sc, inc in last loop, slst.
F.o, leave a yarn tail for sewing. Insert safety eyes (10mm) just like on the photo.
Ears:
1. 6sc in MR

F.o, leave a yarn tail for sewing. Using a yarn tail from MR fold and sew the ears at the base, just like on the photo.
Nose:
1. 6sc in MR

F.o, leave a yarn tail for sewing.
Stuff the nose a little.
Tail:
For tail make a surface bb with
BLUE yarn on R17 of the legs/body.
Trouser finishing:
Inser your hook on the FLO of R19 on the back and pull a RED yarn.Make sc in every FLO around the belly, slst in starting loop, f.o. and weave in the yarn ends.
Hat:
In RED

F.o, leave a yarn tail for sewing. Stuff the hat a little.
Final steps:
- Sew the nose on R34-36 of the head
- Sew the eyes just over the nose
- Sew the ears on both sides of the head on R35-37
- Sew the hat to the head, using a little of any yarn make a shape of the hat.
Beard:
For beard you can use a fur yarn or chenille yarn.
With the fur yarn - insert your hook into the stitch next to the ear and pull the WHITE fur yarn through. Make sc on the entire surface where you want the beard to be.
With chenille yarn - insert your hook into the stitch next to the ear and pull the WHITE chenille yarn through, make slst and pull up a loop (3-4cm length), insert your hook in the next st, make slst and pull up another loop. Repeat on the entire surface where you want the beard to be.
