Chubby Pig Free Pattern

Abbreviations:
MR – magic ring
R – row
ch - chain
sc – single crochet
inc – increase
dec – decrease
bb – bobble stitch*
fo – finish off
slst – slip stitch
hdc – half double crochet
dc – double crochet
tr - treble crochet stitch
in FLO – in front loop only
in BLO – in back loop only
Materials:
- yarn of your choice (I use himalaya dolphin baby)
- a little of black and white acrylic yarn for the face details
- 4,5 mm hook (or fitted to your yarn)
- stitch marker
- sewing needle
- stuffing
- safety eyes (I use 12mm)
- scissors
*Bobble stitch:
Yarn over, insert hook into stitch and pull up a loop. Yarn over, pull through two. Repeat number one in the same stitch/space until you have a total of 5 loops on your hook. Yarn over, pull through all 5 loops at once.
Chubby Pig pattern:
1. 8sc in MR
2. hdc inc x8 (16)
Work in third loop of hdc (photo):
3. in third loop of hdc - sc around (16)
4. sc around (16)
5. (sc, inc) x8 (24)
6. (2sc, inc) x8 (32)
7. sc around (32)
In the next round we will be make ears in FLO.
8. 10sc, [in FLO (hdc, dc) in one stitch, tr, (dc, hdc) in one stitch], 6sc, [in FLO (hdc, dc) in one stitch, tr, (dc, hdc) in one stitch], 10sc
In next round we will work in BLO of ears.
Add safety eyes between R5 and R6 on both sides of the head
9. 29sc, bb, 2sc (32)
10. 2sc, bb, 29sc (32)
11-15. sc around (32)
If necessary, move bb one sc to the left or right.
16. 30sc, bb, sc (32)
17. 3sc, bb, 28sc (32)
18. 32sc
In the next round we will be make tail, if necessary, move tail one sc to the left or right.
19. (2sc, dec) x4, 2sc, and tail: 8ch, turn and in 2nd chain from hook, inc down back across chain, we come back to the main body, dec, (2sc, dec) x3 (24)
20. (sc, dec) x8 (16)
Stuff the body
21. dec x8 (8)
f.o and close
Add some of face detail to your pig using black and white acrylic yarn.
